Our Story

We have long dreamt of a moment and a platform where we can share our passion for truffles, nature, forestry, and agriculture; and use that passion to create an exciting culinary experience.

And here we are.

We are proud farmers, truffle collectors, land owners, but most importantly, a devoted Hungarian family with deep bonds and roots. Nothing can make us happier than spending precious time in our oak wood, watching our beloved hunter companions sniffing around in search of little pieces of treasures we call ‘the diamonds of the earth.’

We are proud to announce that as of Summer 2022, Truffle Garden has begun its operation and become the new truffle importer in California.

Please join us on our journey!

Our Truffles

White Truffle

Tuber Magnatum
Italian: Tartufo d’Alba
French: Truffe de Pièmont
Season: October – December

The white truffle is the most esteemed type due to its exceptional flavor and aroma. It is often described as a mixture of shallots and nuts, with a hint of earthiness. This truffle grows a few inches deep, in symbiosis with the roots of oak, chestnut, and hazelnut trees. It is harvested between October and December in mild weather. One of its famous growing areas is in the Piedmont region, this is why they are often called Piedmont or Alba Truffle. Besides central and northern Italy, the Istria Peninsula in Croatia is also a well-known growing area for white truffles.

Winter Truffle

Tuber Brumale
Season: October – March

The winter truffle has carpophore smaller than the black summer truffle and a color that is grayish-brown with shades of black. It can be often confused with the iconic ‘Périgord’ black truffle (Tuber Melanosporum), both for its color and because they prefer living in the same environment, in symbiosis with the same plants. The winter truffle is primarily harvested from October to mid-March, and has a very strong, robustious, musky aroma.

Black Summer Truffle

Tuber Aestivum
Season: June – December

The black summer truffle has a less intense aroma and flavor compared to its winter peers (white and black winter truffle). In size and color, however, it looks similar. Due to its prevalence, a long growing period (from June to December), its affordability and its diversity, it is the most popular mushroom type in Central Europe.

Our Values

Our Values

Professionalism

We value professionalism. We, as truffle farm owners and licensed collectors, are working closely with our partner truffle farmers to ensure that we all practice the most careful and appropriate collection process according to local regulations. We do this by using only professional and licensed collectors and dogs, using special tools, and taking only the proper quality and size mushrooms from the mushroom circles.

Quality & Ecology

We value quality, the earth and our environment. Since our utmost priority is to provide the highest quality and freshest truffles, they arrive via air cargo directly into your hands, wrapped in a special, temperature-controlled, and vacuum-sealed package. We ensure that all truffles are carefully harvested and selected with the highest level of ecological and environmental protection.

Partnerships

We value our partnerships. In addition to contributing to a fine-dining gastronomical experience, what truly motivates us is to create a successful and pleasant working relationship with truffle connoisseurs like yourself. Feel free to reach out to us, we would love to meet you in person and have you sample our delicious, freshly harvested truffles and exchange thoughts and ideas on a potential collaboration.
